Warming Our Hearts

Our travels begin tomorrow. It’s almost time to start packing. Just kidding…plenty of time yet.
It is about 10 degrees Fahrenheit here. We’ve had about 10 inches of snow this last week. It should be about 80 in Delhi. I like the warming trend.
We are very excited of course. But there is another set of emotions that is filling us as we get ready to depart. Another warming trend in fact. We both agree that we feel a ‘warming in our hearts.’ This has been generated by the great responses that we have had to this blog, and by the wonderful send-offs and well-wishes that people have given us. It is in the way people have stopped, looked into our eyes and wished us a safe and adventurous trip. It is in how people say that they will be excited to follow along with us on this site to see what we are doing each day. It is in the sense of community that we all too often take for granted. You are all our friends. Stay in touch!

Yes, that's our dog Chuck. We'll miss him terribly, but he will be well taken care of by his trusty pet-sitter Katie

Wow, what a fantastic site! I really like the info on India. It gets me excited just looking at all the stuff. I really liked the warming hearts analogy. It puts the trip into perspective. May your travels be safe and eventful!

P.S. Martin Don't forget my Hanuman Monkey!

Mike,
Thanks for your sweet comments. Yes the Hanuman monkey is a langur I believe. Big fellas! No wonder Hanuman could traverse the straight between India and Lanka in one jump. Well, gotta do a bit of puddle jumping myself now. We are out the door in five minutes.

Hi Martin and Cindy,
Your blog is beautiful -- too beautiful to be called a blog. It needs another, lovelier name. It's fun to hear from you, and I hope you are both very well, wherever you are in transit at the moment.

Richard,
Thank you. If 'blog' is not a lovely-enough name then we will have to have a contest for a better name. Love-blog?

Hey Martin, Hey Cindy

Glad to see you both made it. I'm sure you two have seen enough of airport terminals for a while.

The description of your arrival was interesting. The guy leading the elephant would be tad surreal for me. I'm sure its feeling pretty warm there. Its a balmy 3 degrees here in Madison

Get some rest and have fun!

Mike

Mike,
Yes, we are here. So far we are in the grips of jet lag and haven't left the B&B. Our nights and days are a bit messed up. Tomorrow (our Tuesday) we'll get out and explore Delhi.
